Halloween Carnevil 2026: The Haunt Is Coming to Life

The countdown to Halloween Carnevil 2026 has officially begun, and we couldn’t be more excited.

After months of ideas, planning, collecting props, and imagining how everything would come together, we’ve finally started building this year’s haunt. Plenty of work remains, but seeing the first giant decorations, graveyard pieces, tents, and animatronics go into place has completely transformed the space.

What was recently an empty area is slowly becoming our own twisted Halloween Carnevil, complete with towering skeletons, creepy creatures, haunted graveyard, sinister carnival attractions, clowns, and some especially gruesome surprises.

And this is only the beginning.

The 12-Foot Skeleton Is Standing Tall.

One of the biggest signs that Halloween has officially arrived at our house is the return of the 12-foot skeleton.

Getting this massive skeleton standing is always a major milestone in the decorating process. Once he towers over everything, he immediately changes the atmosphere. You can see him from a distance, and he acts almost like a giant guardian watching over the haunt as everything else begins to take shape around him.

There’s just something about a 12-foot skeleton looming over the yard that says, “Halloween is coming.”

But this year, he definitely isn’t alone.

The Headless Horseman Has Arrived

Another major character joining our 2026 Halloween haunt is our impressive 8.5-foot Headless Horseman.

The Headless Horseman brings an entirely different kind of spooky atmosphere to the display. With the horse, the dark figure, and the legendary headless rider, this prop immediately creates an eerie scene straight out of an old Halloween story.

At 8.5 feet tall, it is also large enough to make a strong impression on anyone approaching the haunt.

Our goal this year is to combine the unsettling feeling of a cemetery with the chaotic atmosphere of a haunted carnival, and characters like the Headless Horseman help connect those themes.

Skeleton Dogs and Cats Are Joining the Graveyard

Of course, humans aren’t the only ones coming back from the dead this Halloween.

We’ve also added:

Two 6-foot skeleton dogs
Two 5-foot skeleton cats

These oversized skeleton animals are some of the most fun pieces to position because they can become characters within the haunt rather than simply decorations.

The skeleton dogs look like terrifying guardians patrolling the cemetery, while the giant skeleton cats add another strange and unexpected element to the scene.

When combined with lighting, fog, gravestones, fencing, and other props, they should look even better once everything is complete.

Building the Halloween Graveyard

A major section of Halloween Carnevil 2026 is our graveyard, and construction has already started.

The graveyard fences are being installed, and the gravestones are beginning to fill the cemetery. Even at this early stage, the fencing helps define the area and makes the haunt feel much more immersive.

But a good haunted graveyard needs more than tombstones.

Grave Digger and Grave Robber

We’re also bringing in animatronics to make the cemetery feel like something is actually happening.

Among them are a creepy grave digger animatronic and a disturbing grave robber.

Instead of creating a cemetery where guests walk past decorations, we want the graveyard to feel alive, or perhaps more accurately, undead.

Movement, sound, lighting, and unexpected animation can completely change a Halloween display. Guests may notice a gravestone first, only to suddenly realize something nearby is moving.

Those moments are what make it memorable.

The Butcher’s Shop Is Taking Shape

One area we’re especially excited about this year is the Butcher’s Shop tent.

We’ve already started assembling part of the tent, begun decorating the interior, and brought in animatronics.

The Butcher’s Shop is intended to be darker, more disturbing, and more theatrical than some of the outdoor graveyard areas.

Imagine walking away from a cemetery and suddenly finding yourself approaching a strange butcher shop inside.

That transition is exactly the kind of experience we want to create.

As we continue building, the tent will receive additional decorations, props, lighting, animatronics, and details designed to make visitors feel like they’ve stepped inside a place they probably shouldn’t have entered.

There is still a lot to add, but watching the Butcher’s Shop slowly transform has already been one of the most exciting parts of the build.

Welcome to the Carnevil Snack Tent

Not everything at the Carnevil is buried in the cemetery.

Another tent is dedicated to our Carnevil snacks, and naturally, the clowns have taken over.

This section features multiple clown animatronics, creating the perfect creepy carnival atmosphere.

Some will make you laugh. Some may make you uncomfortable.

And some might make you reconsider your feelings about clowns entirely.

Creating More Than a Halloween Display

Our goal with Halloween Carnevil 2026 isn’t simply to place a few decorations around the yard.

We want to create an experience.

Every section is being designed to feel like another chapter of the haunt. The towering skeleton draws people in. The Headless Horseman adds mystery. The graveyard introduces visitors to the property’s darker side. The grave digger and body snatcher bring the cemetery to life.

Then guests encounter the Butcher’s Shop and Carnival snack tent, where the theme becomes increasingly bizarre.

By combining oversized Halloween decorations, animatronics, themed tents, graveyard scenes, carnival props, clowns, and real equipment, we hope visitors feel like they’ve stepped into our Halloween world.

We Can’t Wait to Host Halloween Carnevil 2026

There is still plenty of decorating ahead.

More props need to be positioned. More animatronics need to be installed. Lighting has to be added. Scenes need more detail, and plenty of surprises still need to find their places.

But the foundation of Halloween Carnevil 2026 is officially here.

The Headless Horseman has arrived.

The skeleton dogs and cats are ready.

The cemetery is growing.

The Butcher’s Shop is opening.

And somewhere inside the Carnevil snack tent, the clowns are waiting.

Most importantly, we are incredibly excited to host the haunt again this year and share everything we’ve been building.

Seeing months of ideas finally becoming reality is one of our favorite parts of Halloween.
